Guest guest
Dear everyone ~ on the question of the post about evil...having grown up in an abusive home, I already believed I was evil, then when I was a preteen, my mother converted to Catholicism and took the rest of us along. So I got another layer of propaganda about my evil nature over what was already there. It was when I came across a book that had a collection of Vedic writings that I first felt some relief because I what I was reading said we are inherently good and all we need to do is remember, rather than we are evil to begin with and somehow have to get rid of it. This negative belief system nearly destroyed my young and fragile soul. In my first year in college, I had a Metaphysics teacher who defined evil as knowledge that is not acted on. And then, when I read the Chandi Path, translation by Swamij of course, I was surprised and also very interested and delighted by his definition of the "bad" army as "negative thoughts." Is not this, the army of "negative thoughts" really the basis of what we think of as evil? It is also the basis of sorrow because one can never be happy if one is indulging their own army of negative thoughts. I don't remember the word, "evil," being used in the Chandi anywhere. (If I'm wrong, please let me know.) And even within the Chandi, once the negative thoughts were vanquished by the glorious army of Goddesses, they were transformed and lifted up to the "heavenly" realm. Just a few thoughts on the topic .... Jai Maa , Jai Swamiji ~ Linda
Guest guest
Evil is a mental construct. It is not real. There are wrong actions and right actions. These actions are dependent only on the person performing them. Right and wrong is an individual choice. Evil is just a concept created by those who wish to blame, resent, extort, control, and brain wash. There is not evil, I swear to Chandi, there is no evil in this place.
