On the deepest level of Truth, as Brian says, evil does not exist, bad actions do not exist, adharma does not exist, suffering does not exist. In the relative world of Maya ( which most of us live in) opposites DO exist and, in fact, exist through inter-relationship. If we do not distinguish between the relative and the absolute, we can find ourselves excusing things that are, in human terms, inexcusable. This is something I have seen happen a little too often and why I (again this is simply my personal opinion) feel that the distinction between these two states of being are important to note." Dear All esp Sadhviji, I deeply appreciate Sadhviji's post above. So my question is - how does one apply absolute truths to the relative world ? How does one translate one's actions in the world to reflect the absolute truths ? Or is that even doable ? I would love to know of your well thought out and intuitive responses. Guest guest
JAI MAA, NANDA! It is not possible! The world is a projection of our perishable thoughts, how can anything like that last forever or be omnipresent? We are like pieces of dry grass on fire! AND YET -- this is our incredible opportunity -- we can align our thoughts to the Absolute -- praise Saraswati! -- and defy the self-limiting forces that appear to define us. Mind is profoundly programmed. But, are we ourselves, at the most profound core, mind ... or what? JAI MAA. She said, ask for God only. What or who is God? Know God first. Yes! Know this undefinable Absolute! Stop knowing the relative! Throw that away! Into the Fire for you! Nothing in here is permanent! We will be thrown down again and again trying to find perfection here. Even if some day the world becomes a heaven-world, keep looking to the Absolute, BE the absolute. This is the Eternal Way. If the Relative existence appears Absolute, this is due to either confusion or great spiritual understanding. Either way, the devotee continues her worship.
