Guest guest
Thank you Henny Hi All,This is getting to be really fun. Wondering if those with the Advanced Shiva Puja books are up for an interesting exercise - Could you check out the Shiva Sahasranam and say which name(s) of Shiva you would apply to your beloved. By the end of this exercise, we would have atleast gone through the Sahasranam once" src=" " width="18"> during this period leading upto Shivaratri Jai ShivaNanda
Guest guest
nanda, could you explain further what you mean by this? Could you check out the Shiva Sahasranam and say which name(s) of Shiva you would apply to your beloved. -- Be Love, Egyirba -=-=- .... Even though one may come in contact with a Guru, he will be accepted as a disciple only if he is fit. Without Guru's grace, one cannot know the Guru. One who is really in search of the Truth will have humility and simplicity. The Guru's grace will be showered only on such a person. Hi Egyirba,It is just a fun way to familiarize oneself with the names of Shiva. What you would need to do is to read the English translation of the Names of Shiva (Use the 1000 names of Shiva from the Advanced Shiva Puja book, OR use the 108 names of Shiva from the Beginner Shiva Puja book). Which name of Shiva really expresses the quality that you would like to see in your earthly/divine Beloved ? Find that quality and share the Sanskrit name pertaining to that quality (from the book) and post on the group. For example : Henny posted "He who is Worthy of Union (Om yojyaya swaha/namah)" from the 1000 names of Shiva and I had posted "he is the best among men (om nararshabhaaya namah )So read through the English translation of either of the above books, find a quality that appeals to you , and post the Sanskrit name along with the meaning. Hope this helpsJai ShivaNanda

I, in my limited knowledge of Shivatri, etc, have vision in my meditation and see Shiva coming in and filtering through my minds eye. But, I won't get it that it could be Shivas day or week. Moreover, I think that it is a message for me nevertheless, in that The Lord comes for a purpose, at the level of my physiology, the third eye; Visionary, as to clarity of purpose, lighting the way with his fire. So, all the aspects of Lord Shiva comes to us, as we are prepared or to knew and to understand the significance of how we fit in the world and how we create His glorious smile for the world. Certainly, it begins with ourselves, and what we give out , will naturally come back to us to one and all. I appreciate being invited to particiapte in this forum as I am learnig at the same time as I write. Reading the previous message tells me somethng about my process, and why the "visions" at certain time? It makes sense to me. Next time, I have to ask myself, perhaps, this could be Shiva's presence in the world coming in today...But, I have to ask why is it Shiva's week? What makes it so, in comparison to other weeks? I mean, what make it practical that I can apply in my sense of being and purpose with huminlty? Well, I leave you on that note, Om Jai Guru In all good and in peace, Edward
