Nanda's footnote: Many of the Mandir devotees wear their japa mala all the time.

I wear a single rudraksha bead on a gold chain all the time ( day and

night ), a rudraksha japa mala around home, and away from home a

small beaded rudraksha mala ( this mala is used for japa when

traveling ), also at times a silver capped rudraksha mala.

Siva Yogaswami enjoined his devotees: "Wear rudraksha beads, repeat

the Panchakshara, let your heart grow soft and melt. Chant the

letters five, and in love you will discover Siva's will. Chant so

that impurities, anxieties and doubts are destroyed. All hail Namah

Sivaya."

Why would I not want that energy around me all the time?

Suite yourself, Arjuna. I take my mala off at night so as not to

break it while asleep and never shower with it around my neck. Also

I do my japa just on my finger segments. Even so the energy from the

japa seems to find its way to the Rudraksha Mala about my neck.

My finger tips are pained while I japa directly on the mala.

Conversely I feel great discomfort if I sit in assana without the

rudrasha beads about my neck. That is how it is for me, but to each

his/her own.

I agree with Arjuna. I always wear my japa mala around my neck and many

times under my shirt. I like it right next to my skin where I can feel that

energy all the time!

go into nitty gritty of the things. The bottom line is how much

devotion and faith one has towards the almighty, the supreme

Consciousness, which incidentally is the same for each human and

animals and all the matter in this cosmos.Whether one prays with

flower or leaf or mala or havan or just in your mind or in whatever

language or wether in bed or in shower or in a difficulty ,is

ultimately heard by the God. Even if one is chanting a mantra

wrong, which is quite possible, even then the almighty will look into

our sincerity and bless us for our liberation and forgive for our

errors. It is usually a good idea to be strict with viddhis but even

when it is not physically possible in our fast life,a moment of

remembrance to the Lord is enough. Many people may differ from my

point of view. But as Sriswamiji has said before, everyone need to

start somewhere and then build upon it. Since

the God pervades into each atom of our body as its shakti and its

matter,we merely need to invoke the consciousness within us with

proper viddhi or with whatever is possible.

In the end one need to be humane and spread the

love and compassion within the entire flaura and fauna of this planet

and colectively act to remove ignorance, hatred and wars and especially

childlabor and child and women abuse. Sincerely VinodDenise
