Guest guest
Follow-up question for Swamiji about Building a home temple 532--Q&A WITH SWAMIJI- Building a home templeSwamiji's response:Spend more time in worship than in making the space. The deities willface south or west, the worshipper will face north or east. Try to finda space that can be dedicated only to worship. The havan kund is a little more involved. Have you been practicing thehoma as yet? If not, start with the beginner's homa in the Hanuman Pujabook. Then move up to the more advanced in the Shiva Advanced Book. Also watch the video CD How to Draw the Yantra and Enkindle the SacredFire. That's a lot to start with. Dear Swamiji ~ I currently am living in a 30 foot travel trailer. All of the space is taken up with push out sofa and dining table, sink/stove, shelves/closets, bathroom, bedroom with about a foot worth of room to walk around the bed. I am hoping that this circumstance will change, but for the forseeable future this is what I have. My altar is on top of a bureau in the "living room" because that was the only place I had to put it. There is no space to build a home temple. At the moment, my bed has become my place of worship because I can in and sit there and shut the door, leaving the tv and my hubby and the dogs in the other room. Also, as I mentioned in another question to you some time ago, I am very ill and often have to do my reciting/chanting/worship reclining in bed. So my question is, in my circumstance, what do I do? If someone like me is in a situation where they cannot make an altar what do they do? Perhaps your first comment, "Spend more time in worship than in making the space" is actually the answer. If it is, I hope you will let me know. And thank you so much for your time ~ Linda
