The damage has already been done, so there is noneed to make greater damage by getting angry. First thing to do is topolitely explain that this is not only a beautiful piece of jewelry foradornment, but also it is a rosary of religious significance, and youprefer to keep its energy pure. Please don't touch, but let me show itto you. When you get home in the evening puja, you can wash the mala in a smallbowl with a little milk, and if you like to dip the mala in oil scentedwith sandal. Then make japa of your guru mantra or Chandi mantra 108times. The mala will be cleansed and will shine, and fragrantly scented, and everything will be fine. Dear Nanda ~ I am hoping you can answer my several questions related to Swamiji's response because I don't want to bother him with another question from me so soon. Is the process of purifying our mala as Swamiji describes something that would be good to do, just for it's own sake, regardless or others touching it or not? Does Swamiji give guru mantras? I was trying today to make a mantra for Swamiji, cobbling together what I know from other mantras (I was feeling especially sick and felt a need to do this for some reason): something like Om shrim Swami Satyananda Saraswatyai Namah. One of the little picture cards given out by DM has a mantra for Shree Maa, but I have never seen one for Swamiji. Lastly, what is the Chandi mantra? Thank you for any clarity you can provide ~ Linda
