Swamiji Question: Blowing on coals?

Dear Swamiji,

 

For homa procedures, although you are seen blowing on the flower/fire for

Praanapratishta on the VCD, I had read (somewhere) that generally

blowing on the coals to stoke to fire is forbidden/discouraged because

you're introducing your own impurities. I'm asking because at certain

times blowing on the coals or using a "blow-poke" would come in real

handy. Currently I use a hand fan if the fire seems to be having trouble,

chanting a Vayu mantra while fanning, or an Agni mantra.
