So that every time we feel anger or sadness rising, we could throw these in the fire of these few (or even one) verse of the Chandi, in the faith that She will come whenever remembered with devotion... Dear Henny ~ wow if you are chanting the Chandi if four and a half hours, that is stupendous. It takes me several weeks to get through it all, and I have to go chapter by chapter. But there is a "shortcut." Nanda told us about it when we were studying the Chandi last year. Because of my difficulty in getting through the whole thing, I asked Nanda for help remembering this "shortcut" she had mentioned. It is called the "Seeda Path." I'm not sure what that means or why these specific chapters are pulled together as a unit to be considered an appropriate puja or recitation. Perhaps Nanda can remind us about that aspect of it. But here are the parts of the Seeda Path. 1. The introduction pages, to just before the "Seven Verses which Express the Essence of She Who Relieves all Difficulties. 2. Praise to the Night of duality. 3. The System of worship with the 9 lettered mantra. 4. Chapters 1 - 13. 5. The system of worship with the 9 lettered mantra. 6. Vedic Praise of the Goddess. 7. The song which gives the key to perfection. Even this seems like it would take me several days to do. I don't know if this would be considered appropriate, but the part I would recite, especially if I was struggling with negative emotions or any difficulty would be the very beginning, that starts with sri manmahaganadihipataye namah We bow to the Respected Great Lord of Widsom and then goes through the prayer to the Divine Fire om agnir jyotir jyotir agnih svaha... and then goes through the om buh (gross body) , om bhuvah (subtle body) om sva (causal body)... and then goes through all the eta ganhapuspe and then goes through the phrase that includes your country, state, city, etc. and finally ends up on the last two pages, invoking peace. These two pages are two of my favorite pages in the whole Chandi, and once, when I was going through a very difficult time, I just kept reading these two pages over and over, so you might even shorten it to just these two pages. The first page begins with: om santa dyauh sant prthivi santam idamurvantariksam... Peace in the heavens, Peace on the earth, Peace upwards and permeating the atmosphere... om santani purva rupani santam no-stu krtakrtam... Peace to all that has form, Peace to all causes and effects... om prthivi santir antariksam santir dyauh... Let the earth be at Peace, the atmosphere be at Peace, the heavens be filled with Peace... tabhih santibhih sarva santibhih samaya moham yadiha... Thus by means of Peace, altogether one with the means of Peace, Ignorance is eliminated, Violence is eradicated, Improper Conduct is eradicated, Confusion is eradicated, and all that is, is at Peace... and ends with om santih santih santih I could just read those two pages over and over and over.
