Guest guest
Hi Linda and all, Here is a great post from Ruk, two years ago on the story of Holi/message/2666 Here is an excerpt from an email from Swamiji"Remember that Holika had received the boon that she would not be burned by fire. So she held Prahlad in her arms and jumped into a roaring fire, so that he would be destroyed. Holika is the selfishness of attachment, and she tried to burn the pure devotee in the fires of samsara. But the pure devotee was saved, and Holika reduced to ashes. We thank you all for celebrating freedom from selfish attachments." As Ramya had posted, this year Holi is on the 14th Mar. Holi is a great day to chant the Vishnu Sahasranam. I will put up a quick poll to see how many of us can chant the Vishnu Sahasranam on this "Holi" day. In India, Holi also signals the arrival of spring . Jai VishnuNanda
