Dear Beloved Shree Maa ~ I have been quoting you and Swamiji a lot lately when referring to having a sacred attitude toward life, which I believe is another way of referring to devotion. I wholeheartedly believe, first by instinct, second by common sense, and third because my beloved gurus have said so, that "worship means paying attention," and that we show our love by respectfully paying attention. To me, this attention that is respectful and loving is the epitome of devotion. Devotion is also taking care, being care -- full, like taking care of the seedling we are digging the hole for by saying our mantra while we dig the hole; or like taking care of our altar (one of my favorite things, even when I can do little else, is to take care of my altar ~ dust everything off, in some cases let water run over it (like my Shiva Nataraj statuette), to make sure there is a candle in the candle holder and incense in the incense holder). Devotion is also efficiency in organizing our lives. There is devotion in the efficiency, and there is devotion in the space the efficiency creates for our worship, our work, the things we do. Devotion is love in action, and devotion is love in stillness. Jai Shree Maa ~ Linda
