Guest guest
Namaste Sanjay Sharma, In the Devi Gita... Chapter 10/Verse 42, the Divine Goddess tells Himalaya that "The two vows of Nine Nights (in the Spring /Caitra Navaratri and in the Autumn/Ashwin Navaratri) make Me Extremely pleased." Perhaps Nanda can forward your question to Swamiji regarding if there is a different importance besides the season. The index of the Chandi Pathah as translated by Swami Satyananda Saraswati lists what the chapters are about. For example: Chapter 1 is about balancing Too Much and Too Little (slaying of the Asuras Madhu & Kaithaba ) Chapter 2 is about Slaying of the Armies of the Great Ego Chapter 6 is about Slaying of Sinful Eyes Chapter 11 ...The Gods' Song of Praise and so on... Regarding your last question, I'm not sure how much time you have to devote towards puja while at home or traveling... Perhaps you could read or perform the puja ritual in the Durga Puja Beginner available at http://www.shreemaa.org/bookstore.htm. You could chant all or any one listed below from the Chandi Pathah : Sri Durgastottara satanama stotram (108 names of Durga ), Kavach (Armor of the Goddess), Devi Atharvasirsyam ( the Highest meaning of the Goddess), Durga Dvatrimsannama (32 names of Durga) Rgvedoktam Devi Suktam (The vedic praise of the Goddess) or 1 or 10 malas japa of the Navarna mantra. Nanda has also posted about a group sankalpa that you might be interested in at /message/17656 Please continue to participate in this group ...The members of the Devi Mandir forum are a wonderful family and their posts are helpful, thoughtful and illuminating.
