Guest guest
Swamiji asked this question: What is the difference between prayer and meditation? ===== Swamiji, The Mother was Prayer and the Master was Meditation. One day, Mother and Master were married. As they deepened in wisdom together, their love became such that they forgot their own names. Whenever one calls out for the other, even by their own name, the partner appears, without confusion or doubt. Steve

The goal could be either material or spiritual; if it is the highest spiritual goal, then it's success (I presume) will probably bring it to the same state as meditation (see below). Meditation is exclusively spiritual in nature. It can be interpreted 2 ways: 1. It attempts at removing the duality. So a newbie sadhak will state it as "I am doing the ___ meditation technique". 2. Duality is removed. In the case of accomplished sadhaks, one has transcended duality where being is a state of meditation. Jai Ma!

Jai Maa! Sincere one-pointed prayer purifies the heart, which enables us to experience Her Divine Presence in Meditation. In Prayer there are "2"; we are able to look into the eyes of our beloved and say, "i love You", sing Her praises, etc. In deep Meditation, we merge with Her and there is only one... > > > >

Guest guest
Prayer is the invocation of divinity into ourselves, which may then be followed by subsequent manifestation through our personal interface outward to the world around us. Thus prayer can become quite dynamic. Meditation can be an installation of ourselvs into the realm of the sacred. For me meditation is the placement of mind into the Kutasta were thoughts wilt and die. Meditation is the place where contiguous thought becomes discontiguous. Meditation is the place where mind disolves into no mind. Meditation is the process by which mind gives way to reflective knowing. Meditation is where thought crumbles into being. , Prayer Club <_prayer_club wrote: > > Dear All, > Swamiji asked this question: What is the difference > between prayer and meditation? > > Swamiji defined the Sanskrit word for prayer: > > The Sanskrit word 'prarthana' means prayer. > > Pra means the Supreme or the highest > artha means the goal, objective or meaning > na means manifestation > > Please 'meditate' upon the Sanskrit meaning for prayer > and share any inspirations you might have about the > difference if any, between prayer and meditation. > > Looking forward to hearing all of your wonderful insights which will be shared with Swamiji. > > _Prayer_Club > > > > > >
