Guest guest
Dear Kanna Krishnan, Om! Here is my understanding of what Swamiji told me: Every scripture has three parts: the Prayog, the main body, and the Upasamhara part. The Prayog is the preface. In the Chandi Path it starts from the Kushandika and includes the verses before Chapter 1 (except the Ratri Suktham and Navarna Vidhi). The Main body is Chapter 1-13, the two Sukthams and the two Navarna Vidhis. The Upasamhara is the rest of the book. Usually, the Upasamhara section includes the Phala Sruti. The Chandi Path is an exception because the Phala Sruti is contained in Chapter 12. The Cosmic Puja is derived partly from the Upasamhara section of the Chandi Path. Specifically, see the Vaikritikam Rahasyam. Verses 18 to 22 describe a portion of the Cosmic Altar. In verse 23, it says that Her nine energies are to be worshipped. That is Nava Durga Puja (2) in the Cosmic Puja. In verse 27, it says "with the various objects which demonstrate respect, ornaments, scented flowers, whole grains, incense, lights, and various disshes of food." That is the Puja Naivedhya in the Cosmic Puja. The Cosmic Puja is also derived from Chapter 11 of the Devi Gita. Swamiji also said that the Upasamhara section is that which makes the scripture complete. Jai Maa! with love and prayers, srini , "kanna_krishnan2002" <kanna_krishnan2002 wrote: > > Namaste to all, > > Some area for discussion; > > 1) Pg 5 Introduction 3 paragraph > > "It is from this Chandi Path ,and especially from the secrets of the > Upasamhara Puja ,that the Cosmic Puja is derived " > > Swamiji have explained the meaning of Upasana but what does Upsamhara > means, anybody? > > The kushandika from devata pranam to shanthi mantra have been covered > to pg 36. > > Jai Maa!! >
