Guest guest
It happened once that while Sri Chaitanya Deva, the Avatara of ecstatic love of God, was on pilgrimage to the many holy places in Southern India, that he came across a pure devotee profusely weeping tears of joy and love as another was reciting the Bhagavad Gita. Sri Chaitanya, who was always drawn like a bee to a flower wherever pure hearted devotees shed tears in the name of God, inquired about the ecstatic devotee, and was told that in truth he didn't know a single word of the Sanskrit being read. So, at the conclusion of the recitation, Chaitanya Deva asked the devotee how it is that he could be so moved without understanding a single word being spoken. The devotee replied: "Sir, true it is that I do not know Sanskrit, but as the Gita is read, my inner heart is awakened and I clearly see the lovely form of Sri Krishna standing in the chariot speaking the soul enthralling words of the Gita to his pure souled devotee Arjuna, and tears of joy and love flow naturally from my eyes." Blessed indeed is that pure souled one whose heart opens in bhakti and whose tears flow when the beloved Lord is being praised, whether he understands the language or not.
