Welcome to second day of Navarathri ,how is the rest is doing ?

 

Today covered Chapter 1 which manifest Sri Mahakali . Even though we

all have done this few times before the way Swamiji expounds the

text always makes it sound new again. Just to summarize again, I

know some find this repetitive but please allow me to share again ;

 

The story starts with the King Suratha and businessman Samadhi

meeting in forest and lamenting on their feeling for those who have

dejected them and they turn to Sage Medha Muni whose ashram they are

putting up for explanation .The sage shares all this is the work of

Divine Mother Mahamaya for which they wanted to know more about

her .He explain Her manifestation when Madhu and Kaitabha disturbed

the peace of Brahma's meditation for which Vishnu was awaken by Her.

She was called Mahakali and her description as well as one of the

important sukta for Devi manifest here( I love to recite this to

awake Her in morning )

 

The battle between Vishnu and Madhu and Kaitabha lasted for years

and finally they requested to be put away where there is no ocean of

desire. Lord Vishnu took them on his loin cloth and took their life

away………..

 

I hope by reciting the first chapter Maa Sri Mahakali , Great

Remover of Darkness Mahakali is satisfied
