Swamiji didn't say Ram couldn't have enlightened everyone if He was

with Sita. how could worldly(external/temporal) circumstances have

stopped Ram, when God is internal/eternal? God can't possibly be

contingent on any worldly circumstances. wasn't Ram just following

His dharma? can't greatness/sacrifice(like God) take many forms?

I would have liked it to end. Personally, I wish Ram could have

just enlightened his people and he and Sita lived happily ever

after, but for some reason I feel better after Swamajii's reply.

well, Romance, is a good thing.

Start Romancing the Beloved and expect the unexpected.

As Yogananda's Guru says "God is ever-new joy .... He is seductive

beyond thought of competition".

i'm not enlightened, nor very advanced(though sometimes hopeless :)

and i also like romantic, happy endings. my point was simply that i

think being married doesn't affect our chances of becoming advanced

or enlightened. there are many examples of enlightened souls, even

saints being married. for example, Ramakrishna. so i guess what i

am saying is i am going to hold on to the romantic happy ending as i

don't believe it is an either/or situation. if i can Love my wife

Totally as God, She could very well be the One to show me God. -eric
