namaste,

i would like to know the internal significance of pran pratisht and

nyasa.

since one could just as easily invite the diety into our hearts and

meditiate on her there, and feel her there, without necessarily

going through all the pratisht and nyas mantras, i would like to

know what exactly do these mantras in fact do, as they considered to

be vital to all tantric pujas.

1. do they have the overall effect of enhancing the potency of the

japa mantra that follows? in other words, one could just do the japa

without nyas, but with nyas the japa would be more powerful?

2. i know i kind of asked this before, but like a stupid child i

need to hear it again: just as recieving initiation into a mantra

makes it more potent for the sadhak, does one need therefore

initiation into the pratishta and nyasa mantras as well in order to

enhance their effect, or does one in fact not need any "oral

transmission" from a guru for them at all, and they will work

equally fine?

3. how do the different mantras of the pratisht/nyas correspond to

the different chakras and nadis(chakra petals), as i assume is the

case? (this kind of fascinates me, and i tend to get more motivated

when i know the inner meaning of what i am doing)

om am am hrim krom yam ram lam vam sam sam sam hom ham sah

gam gim gum gaim gaum gah (kara+anga)

thank you very much for your precious time,

i hope this is not too much,

kalidas
