Guest guest
Hi Larry, Glad to hear of your progress. Go to the publications on the shaivism site and I believe you will find a componant that will let you download the ShivaSutras. Sutra literally means thread, and a sutra must be as concise and with the fewest words possible...it's shivism in a nutshell...As for the ears, listen intently on only one tone at time. what ever the sound may be. You must focus on it with undivided attention...that means both ears...go deeper into it...in hours, days, or month, another tone or tones will present themselves to you. Go with the one that is the most intuitive to you...It may not be the loudest...the important thing is too give undivided attention to the sound that you are focusing on...in time you will not only hear it in one ear, but both...you will merge with it...it will resonate throughout your whole body...Do not be suprised if you even feel your head vibrating in time...this is good...go with it...it is a sign that you are one with the sound...I must stress that this vibrating feeling is not necessary, but sometimes happens in a certain percentage of people. Guest guest
Hello Marcus, Thanks for turning us on to the inner sound meditation. I've been using it for a couple of days and it seems to be going quite well. The Web sites you suggested last Friday are superb! Much thanks! I've been working on the inner sound at the later part of my sadhana, where and when I'm most focused and most centered. I've got a few questions. I seem to be experiancing inner sounds in both ears and they are quite different. Many years ago I was told that we should tune in to one side more than the other, and that this had something to do with our being predominately right or left handed. Also the inner sound seems to be very easy for me to hear, it seems to permeate my entire sadhana, even when I'm working with mantra. I can easily tune in to it during the day. My feeling on this , is that I'm either doing something right, or I'm way out in left field. I am enjoying the discussion on the sutras very much. At this juncture I feel that I don't have much to contribute in that I am just learning. I am digesting John Hughes , article on Mosksa and the means of its attainment, very slowly, it's wonderful. If you could share any information or steer in a direction it would be most appreciated. Thanks for all the information so far! Guest guest
Gloria, I have an interestin site for you. Check this out http://www.ksf.org/home.htm It is an introduction to the non-duality of Kashmir Shaivism. Once you get there, click on introduction on the left, then scroll down and read 'Moksha and its Means of Attainment' by John Hughes, a student of Swami Laksmanjoo's until his death. Scroll up after you have read this and download Swami Laksman Joo's pdf file. This is non-dualistic philosophy at its best...I believe you will enjoy it. You seem to be one of the rarefied people that are intuitive to Grace, and it would not suprise me at all if your essence has had hundreds of thousands of years of experience. It is common for people with a rich history in contemplation and devotion to have spontaneous awakenings, or to be spirirtually advance without knowing the technical terms. This is interesting, I will elucidate later. Read this and let me know(if I am not being to forward). It is an absolute pleasure to meet you. Much Light Marcus p.s. I am on central standard time. Guest guest
Gloria Greco shares: A lot of people have asked about the ongoing sounds that manifest during awakening. One must become quite detached from annoyance of any kind since we naturally become more attuned to frequency change and the creative sound. I have for years heard the creative sound in my right ear 24 hours a day. It is never gone, it is a state of awareness for sure, when the sound moves into my left ear it pretty much takes me out of my body. This sound is not with me all of the time obviously, when it comes however, it is always for purpose and specific in nature related to moving consciousness from one focus to another. This is a natural part of the union with God. God is light and sound, as we lose that connection to the "I, me, mine mentality" we are suddenly made very aware of the current of life which is running through us and is essentially the universal sound maintaining life. This is also the high frequency sound of divine will, in it we move and live and have our being. As one puts God first in all things it literally manifests in us and through us, the no thought state of mind is directly related to this constant manifestation of consciousness flowing in and through. One of the people I have worked with for years is beginning to have experience in the minior soma center above the third eye, she asked does this feel like this or that. The next thing she said I can understand what you have been saying, in this you can't think about things, nothing seems to exist or bother you. This is true, the centers of union are in the head. When the heart center has moved into the heavenly heart between the eyebrows you can be certain God has taken the major step to take his/her child home. laurence beyer wrote: > > laurence beyer <larbeyer9 > > Hello Marcus, > > Thanks for turning us on to the inner sound meditation. Guest guest
Gloria, You may be dead on about the initiation or ritual aspect. The heat on the top of your head was most likely Saktipat--the descent of divine shakti. It doesn't literally descend, but rather manifests itself at the crown then downward. This could very well be the unfoldment, or unmesa of Divine counciousness--the move toward unity. This is accompanied by the vimesa, dissapearance of illusion of difference. The veil of Maya possesses five kancucas or coverings: Kala--Reduces the omnipotence of Shiva to the empirical individual. Vidya--Reduces the omnicience of Shiva to limited knowledge. Raga--reduces the fullness of Siva to desire for particular things. Kala--reduces eternity to limitation in respect of time. Niyati--reduces the all pervasiveness of Svatantra(Absolute Free Will) to limitation in respect to space and cause. This is brought about by the three Mala's of Maya Shakti: Anava mala--Primal limiting condition which reduces universal counsciousness to a Jiva (empirical experient). mayiya Mala--Limitation due to Maya which gives to the soul its gross and subtle body, and brings about a sense of difference. Karma Mala--limitation due to karma(sense of doing good and bad--limited experient) It is actually very possible that this(experience) is symbolic of the process of cancelation of these energies by their counterparts: Kriya Shakti--Energy of action Jnana Shakti--Energy of knowledge. Iccha Shakti--Energy of will. --All sentient beings possess the energy of kriya Shakti. --By individual effort we come into realization of Jnana Shakti --By Divine Grace only do we realize Iccha Shakti I believe you have much grace in store for the future if you remain ever vigilant. Guest guest
currwamp wrote: Hi Marcus, Thank you for the site, it is interesting. Yes, I know it is something that simply is natural for me. I've pretty much been brought up recognizing that my purpose was to assimilate both east and west. I seem to have as many eastern experiences with eastern dieties as I do those of Christian with Christ and Mother Mary. Just this last week I had a powerful experience where I was going through an ancient ritual which was the marriage of the ancient dieties, Divine Mother...who I knew as Manapura with the Divine Father, which was almost pronouced the same way but slightly different, Milapreda. Both where ancient. The Male diety was sitting in the classic posture with a large knot on the Crown Chakra. The women was beautiful and very old. The male was sitting in my crown area birthing in the womb of the Crown a male diety. I woke up in this midst of the experience and then went right back into it, Milapreda said we must wait for the perfect moment for the birth of the jewel from the Crown, who was actually a being manifest through the marriage. It was slightly behind the 7th center but related to the Knot at the Top of the Head and above. This was definitely a Tandra experience because my head was illuminated and hot with energy just pouring forth from the top of the head. It was more like an intiation then a dream. The next morning I picked up the Golden Flower and opened it up to the experience underway. What do you know of this? Gloria > > "currwamp" <currwamp > > Gloria, > I have an interestin site for you. Guest guest
Gloria, Interesting. Let me proffer you this. The three lower chakras belong to Shakti--the Divine creative feminine aspect--the Divine Mother...The crown, brow and throat chadras belong to Shiva--pure, undifferentiated awareness--the male aspect that conceives of the universe. Shakti rises and Shiva descends; they meet and merge in the human heart chakra--called hyrdya, which literally means: heart; the central counsciousness which is the substratum of all manifestation, citprakasa...Cit means the absolute; foundational counsciousness; the consciousness that is the unchanging principle of all changes...Prakasa means Light, the principle of Self-revelation; consciousness; the principle by which every thing is known. This is how I have described it the Holy Spirit comes down through the crown and meets up with Kundalini rising from the three lower chakra, they meet in the heart center which is the awakening to Christ Consciousness. This has been my experience for many years, it is actually something I have lived. This union now taking place has to do with the birth of the Buddha consciousness which manifests as the jewel in the lotus and actually extends consciousness to another level. My awareness tells me that it relates to the chakra's above the head, in fact the three chakra's above the head. Gloria > > Gloria, > Interesting. Let me proffer you this.
