Guest guest
That is a fantastic expositon Doc. I liked it very much. it comes as no suprise that people describe better sex after k awakening...as k runs up the length of the nerve roots of the spine, this stands to reason that the appropriate plexus of nerves will be stimulated also...so often people have more sex instead of less sex when k awakens though. The base chakra (Muladhara) is the first chakra that k deals with, followed by Svadhisthana, the 2nd chakra...so sexual pleasure is a common experience. There is the practice of sexual tantra, in which the male achieves orgasm, but through careful control of certain muscles, he retains his sperm, bypassing ejaculation...he thusly retains the energy acummulated during the moments before orgasm, rather than discharging it (thereby needing a cigarette). This tantra is supposed to have another goal...in the moments before orgasm, when the male has no thought in mind, but is in pure ecstacy (thereby unable to think) this is the moment that the aspirant is supposed to capture, showing him the true bliss of the thoughtless state and merger with the divine. This is a dangerous practice though, and is subject to perversions and misuse by individuals...better to harness the sexual energy during meditation, effectively taking control of the energy, rather than vice-versa. I have to say that in marriage, cessation of sex completely is not necessary, lest you treat your wife in a cold, and innapropriate manner; but one can take control of sexual energy...have sex as a loving gift to your husband or wife, not because you are "horny". And of course, there is always sperm retention....One more footnote...it is very easy...and dangerous to get caught up in a feeling or sensation during meditation, or as we we walk around in Bhairavi Mudra (eyes outward, but inwardy focused)...some of these sensations are mindnumbing...but they can ultimately become a liability as we focus on them rather than realization, which is both the means and the goal... Guest guest
Harsha and Gloria, I thank you both for the insights on k. Gloria's psychological take on it was a nice viewpoint that I am not too often privy to. Guest guest
Harsha: Kundalini manifestations are a function of several factors. One is the youth of the person. The younger the person is and particularly if the person is practicing celibacy (or some regulation of conduct), the Kundalini will come with a huge force. If the sexual conduct has not been regulated it will come with much less force. Electric voltage experiences and the "drilling" analogies seem appropriate to me, but may not be so for everyone. After the three granthis have been broken the flow of Shakti will be nice and smooth like the flow of oil. However, people do experience different aspects of the Kundalini in different sequences, so no general rules for interpreting the Kundalini manifestations can be made. One basic thing, however, that I have found to be true, is that, regulation of sexual conduct has a great impact on the Kundalini rising and the substance of different manifestations. The nerve currents passing through the spine indicate that the Shakti is being stimulated. Kundalini is the mother of Prana. Where it goes, the prana will follow. When the Kundalini enters Sushmana, prana is withdrawn from all over the body and the body becomes motionless. It is in that state, as Kundalini moves higher, that various visions and superconscious states manifest. Kundalini Yoga is one path to enlightenment but it also creates much confusion among people. The ultimate goal of all Yogas and Tantras is to recognize that "Peace that Passeth all Understanding" is within us and it is our Real Nature or Original Nature. One goes through all these things to only come face with or Recognize One's Own Self!
