Guest guest
Satsanghers: Let me say that my idea of the ideal Ashram is one that is situated in the heart of the city--or, thereabouts, anyway. For me, the most important aspects to the whole Ashram deal are, 1) A guide or Teacher who knows the terrain and possesses the talent, training and right motivation for the job of assisting seekers; 2) The challenge of working with and within a community that both provides support and, oftentimes, unique challenges for the overall development of the seeker; 3) A place where seekers meet and energy accrues, intensifies and participates in the activity of cleansing seekers of tensions at physical, emotional and energetic levels; 4) The opportunity for persons who seek a full-time spiritual vocation to be fulfilled; 5) A visible presence in the Community, of Spiritual activity centered around the Nondual Idea, or, the cultivation of an active consciousness that recognizes and behaves in accordance with the recognition that only One I Am exists. Here, I am suggesting that the most effective foundation for moral and ethical behavior is a consciousness freed of the false identification of the I Am with the local, alienated ego. My personal take on moksha or enlightenment, is that it is 'freedom to... rather than freedom from.' I have written an essay titled, The Liberated Actor: A Transpersonal Approach to the Art of Acting. If anyone is interested in reading it, I would be more than happy to provide you with a copy. Briefly, it outlines how one might integrate spiritual sadhana into the training, rehearsal and performance process to serve as a means for the spiritual development of both artists and audience. The essay is a bit philosophical in places, but readers have offered positive comments thus far. I should be glad of any assistance Satsanghers might be willing to offer. My basic premise is that the glue that binds together human community--and, indeed, consciousness Herself, is Choice. We shall never ever escape the fact that we are all choosers, actors, decision-makers, and that this de-cision making is just that, the binding together of cision, the unification of consciousness by virtue of its dynamic, essentially interactive nature. Anyway, its late and past my bedtime. Thanks for being there, All. Love and devotion, Madhya
