Guest guest
Satsanghers; Transersonal psychologist and philosopher, Michael Washburn has written an excellent book entitled <underline>The Ego And The Dynamic Ground</underline>. He offers valuable insight and analysis of the nature of the ego and the activity of disidentifying the ego as the ground of one's Being. He proposes that the ego is never lost, per se, that it always remains as an essential mechanism for personality, but that one loses the sense of the ego as the ground or source of consciousness. This re-cognition of the 'Dynamic Ground', (Washburn's term), leads to a complete reorientation of the personality's structure of relationships: to thoughts, feelings, emotions, indeed, all perceptual phenomenon. This reorientation of personality is based on the the displacement of the ground of selfhood from the personal to the transpersonal, or unconditioned Source. However, both the experience of the Source and its integration into personality differs somewhat as it is apprehended by the personality. Anyway, some good reading.
