Guest guest
List, Lately I've been contemplating Buddhism and Vedanta, and come to the conclusion that the "goals" of the two are precisely the same; only the methods differ slightly. If represented mathematically, Buddhism might be indicated as: 1 - 1 = 0 In other words, by subtracting lower self from lower self, one arrives at what remains when lower self is gone, emptiness, or one-ness (0 = 1). Vedanta might be looked at as such: -1 + 1 = 0 In these terms, the lower self is considered nonexistent or lesser than Higher Self (-1), and by "adding" Higher Self (Brahman) to the equation (or Realizing Higher Self and denying lower self), one-ness (the same as the "emptiness" of Buddhism) is realized. Does this make sense to anyone? With Love, Tim ----- The CORE of Reality awaits you at: http://start.at/the.core Poetry, Writings, Live Chat on spiritual topics.
