Guest guest
Dear Laura I think yours is a beautiful letter. I will not quote it as anyone interested enough will read its entirety for them selves. It was refreshing, honest and without guile. We have recently had my wifes relations from Southern Ireland staying with us and to my amazement I found they brought out the worst in me. Their intolerence brought out my intolerence of their intolerence. They would not be or seem to be thus in their own enviroment. I see how it is possible for religious beliefs to be used to start wars and keep them going for generations. Somtimes these wars are feuled by people who are far from religious for their own gain. I had to search deeply for the cause of my own reaction and found that I have more ego than I realised. Naturally I believe ( we have no choice but to believe our own belief) that my open view that there are many religions and individual paths but only one God is "spiritualy correct" It was extremely dificult for me to cope with a very rigid belief even if spoken about in the name of God. Live and let live flew out the window. I did not talk about my own belief even once which I suppose is to my credit but whenever possible retreated to spend time reading the letters on this satsangh. Today they left and both my wife and I breathed a sigh of relief. I must redouble my endevour to "Love all serve all" Sai Ram Chris
