Science has not been able to isolate a central control center, the "me" within the brain. The brain seems to function in isolated units (or different parts that "intercommunicate"), just as you said, with *no* "central processing unit" whatsoever. Scientists are confounded, but are sure they will eventually discover the part of the brain that is "me." As we both know, it will never happen!
