Guest guest
Marcia: I wouldn't dream of defending Gurdjieff one way or the other. His work stands on it's own. Although personally I don't believe there was much he didn't understand or was afraid of. But now I have become quite interested in the subject of Kundalini and the question of reception of energies from the higher centers in distinction from energy rising up from the lower centers. [...] Jan: To my knowledge, it is sufficient to know Kundalini can be regarded as a fire. Burning grass produces a lot of smoke whereas a hydrogen flame is invisible but can produce a lot more heat. With Kundalini it is the same; also, no two experiences are the same and even if they are comparable, it is quite possible they don't occur at the same stage. Then, there isn't agreement on the number of chakras and their colors. Another factor is one's "degree" of surrender or being witness. With unconditional surrender, nothing can go wrong so there is no need to stuff the mind with someone else's experiences / theory. Without unconditional surrender, at times things can go wrong and a mind, stuffed with someone else's experiences / theory wouldn't prevent that from happening Instead, read K. inspired poetry from San Juan de la Cruz, Jnaneshwar, Rumi, Harsha and many more... Guest guest
Nityananda was forever in the state of samadhi. Established in the divine, he would sometimes speak. The following is the The Sky of The Heart, which is a collection written down by his devotees. Nityananda did not want a center, or a following. Nonetheless, devotees wrote down his words, and the aforementioned book is the result. Some quotes from Nityananda regarding Kundalini: The Self in the heart-sky And the heart-sky in the Self are One. Those who know this One sing in ecstasy! They know the bliss-producing kundalini. Awaken the kundalini Shakti Through the breath. For when it is roused, liberation is possible. The subtle kundalini is comprehended By following the path of thei higher mind. Like milk being boiled, The vital breath in the sushumna channel is heated by intense faith and dis rimination And led toward the shasrara chakra, The still point at the top of the head. As the kundalini power Crosses each subtle energy center, Properties of the energy that evolves As the world change. And as they change--so does one's whole birth. Kundalini is the eternal delight. Kundalini is the eternal delight in the heart, The "light of Brahma." Ablaze with the light of a million suns. The house of breath is The dwelling place of kundalini, The house of Shiva, the house of fulfillment, The house of balance and harmony. One who lives in this house cares not about Honor or dishonor. This is the home of the yogi who has Renounced everything. This is the home of subtle discrimination, The home of kundalini, The home within the heart. The search for truth, Where the subtle merges with the gross, Requires subtle discrimination. The seat of such discrimination is in The sky of the heart. When the kundalini rises To this place in the head, Then the breath is single And the universe is in one's Self. ---Nityananda Mahapremabhakti M
