Gotta jump in here. Buddha said there are 840,000 dharma gates. Since yours truley doesnt know what those might be, if i were to say what you just said, i would violate all kindsa precepts and probably break a few of my vows. Why? because the truth manifests in different forms. There are 4 types of yoga, 3 yanas of buddhdharma etc etc. the inexpressible luministic clarity may manifest to my friend as Sri Nityananada, to me as Khenpo Rinpoche. Each being has different karma. Different karma glasses through which to express and move and grow. My karma lead me to see Avolokiteshvara in the face of my teacher. I wouldnt expect you to share that, unless you shared a lot of common karma with me. But i do expect you to respect my own meeting with my own nature. As i would respect your meeting with yours. To not have such respect is to not have respect for yourself. Its better imo to meet everyone as a manifestation of one's guru (even if you have not met her yet!), then as nothing at all, at least that way one is attempting equanimity. --janpa the babbling villiage idiot

Each one knows exactly what to teach you at that moment that one encounters them. Then one can step back further and see *what* makes them all a teacher? something like innate clarity, wisdom, compassion in the form of cutting you off in traffic and enraging you so you can see your anger etc . Well it beats seeing that person who cut you off as someone bad or evil or rude. rude is just an action anyone. persons are not rude, they do rude things. (can u tell im not patient in the car yet;)?) --janpa
