Guest guest
In one way I think you're right: a spiritual path without bouts of negativity in it doesn't feel very deep to me. But I think there is a difference between writing ABOUT negativity (what you're experiencing) and writing FROM negativity (attacking somebody personally). In fact I found out that containing, digesting and transmuting negativity is one of the most powerful spiritual tools around, far greater, sometimes, than those involving transcendence and light. The Tibetans have some practices in this area -- Janpa would probably know -- but the idea can be as simple as choosing not to express a negative thought, holding it in your heart without giving it any extra energy and then watching what happens next. I've gotten to some very expansive and joyous places doing this. The trick is to be willing to forgo expression and energy discharge or to wait till the content of what you want to say is emotionally neutral. Be selfish with your emotional fuel, preserve it to heat up your own personal growth. Holly

If you stay stay for that, not for hope of being elevated above anything. Noone is elevated above anything, unless you refuse to play the game-then you don't even count. I prefer not to count. mike
