Guest guest
Several new moderators have been added to a. I believe most of them are members of ACOWPAL (Ahimsa Council of World Peace and Love). Moderators may be passive or active as they choose. If any of the new moderators, after trying this for a few days, wish to resign please let me know. Ahimsa Council Executive Session (ACES) will be held in late may/early June, after the a awards have been given out. More information will be forthcoming as soon as I make more of this stuff up :--). Seriously, given the conflict, tension and violence around us, thinking about Ahimsa (Non-Violence) and its value to our own peace and planetary peace seems important. It makes sense to introduce the philosophy of Nonviolence, and the saints and sages who have advocated such a life view, early on to children. It might fundamentally alter the course of some lives. The great Sage of Arunachala, Sri Ramana Maharshi, the foremost radical nondualist, was often heard to say "Ahimsa Paramo Dharmo" meaning that "Nonviolence is always the Supreme Principle". Ahimsa is also considered the first principle in Yoga. Ahimsa is both the means and the end. The nature of Self is Ahmisa. Kaivallya is the state of Pure Nirvikalpa or Pure Ahimsa as in such a state no thought can possibly arise of injury to another, as no thought can arise at all, everything having been subsumed in the Self. When there is no "other", that is Ahimsa. Love to all Harsha
