Guest guest
The tornadoes in Oklahoma that have devastated thousands of homes is clear evidence of the buddhist doctrine of karma at work ("National karma" (or, the karma of a nation, of the complicity of the people) was clearly explained by the 14th Dalai Lama in the video I recently watched). The United States (the leading NATO country) is now beginning to reap karmic retribution for its involvement in Yugoslavia. In its association with Milosevic and in its leading role as "the" NATO country engaged in the destruction of Yugoslavia, the U.S. is the first to be struck with karmic retribution, and this retribution is just beginning to come to fruition. Other countries involved in the NATO operations will also be hit with disasters of their own, but most likely on a lesser scale, as most of them are following along with the desires of the U.S. There is no "International Community." We are it; we (the U.S.) are the example, like it or not. Further disaster is in store for the U.S. as NATO continues to "intensify" its campaign against Yugoslavia. Our own people will begin to suffer as those in Yugoslavia are suffering. Karma is a law that operates on the level of samsara only. All these things are going on on the level of samsara, which is the level at which the law of karma (and most human beings and nations) operates. Karma is not destiny, but similar to the scientific doctrine "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction." Strength of intention plays the largest role in karma. As a nation, we are bent on bringing Yugoslavia to its knees through the use of violent force. As a result, that violent force will be returned to us in exactly the equal measure that is dealt out.
