Guest guest
Hi Lists, Does anyone know much about Ammachi (Mata Amritanandamayi) and her teachings? I recently checked out one of her books from the library (Awaken Children, Vol. VI) and find her teachings very attractive. I really like the idea of a female guru rather than the traditional male guru. The official website is listed below, but I'm wondering if anyone here has met this guru and if she is very well known: http://www.ammachi.org/ Hari OM, Tim ----- Visit The Core of the WWW at: http://www.eskimo.com/~fewtch/ND/index.html Music, Poetry, Writings on Nondual Spiritual Topics. The group along with Ammachi started coming right after I got here, I think. Yes. Many come to this Holy Presence. Generally, I have heard good things about her. Many people go to give her a hug and get a hug. There is usually a big line. Typically everyone is on their knees, I think, which for some reason strikes me as rather comical. That's just me and I don't mean any disrespect. Although the group is only a few hundred feet away, I have not been inclined to go see her in that hug line. I give hugs by appointment only :--). Just kidding. I am flexible on these matters. Harsha
