Guest guest
Hello everyone: I don't think there is anything to be gained from attempts to distinguish between distressing psychological effects associated with Kundalini and "mental illness". Rather, such attempts represent a disservice to those we label "mentally ill". The stigma is reinforced and perpetuated. My view, as I've stated before, is that all mental illness (with the possible exception of organic brain disease) is spiritual illness. Let's take the rather extreme though not uncommon example of psychosis, which represents a serious distortion of reality. Just because I suffered from psychosis after my K was awakened did not make me somehow better or more advanced than those who are psychotic and have not yet had K awakened. Similarly, my suffering from panic attacks before my K awakened did not make the panic attacks any less spiritual. At the timeless level of ultimate reality, we are all awakened beings. The order in time in which events happen is not particularly significant in the grand scheme of things and shouldn't be used as a basis of distinguishing one group of sufferers from another. This has the effect, whether intended or not, of elevating one group above another, which is contrary to the wishes of god/dess. I encourage all to work toward the empowerment of the mentally ill. With love, Rob P.S. I just learned that my e-mail server was down again for a couple of days last week. We could expand that the experience of the body/world is spiritual illness. It is after all the consequence of toying with the idea of an autonomy apart from the divine. But to leave it there is a disservice. Spirit/kundalini has the function of transforming all so called illness into a tool for the purpose of awakening/healing. In the end, no illness no healing only what is real > At the timeless level of ultimate reality, we are all awakened beings. Being? I agree. The order in the grand scheme of things is quite simultaneous. : ) > I encourage all to work toward the empowerment of the mentally ill. And how? Perhaps by looking *through* the illness that we see straight into the heart of divinity. We are amazing healers. Remember?
