[...] No, recognizing an enlightened being in 'real life' is automatic but in cyber space it isn't. In the second case, there are many variables whereas in the first case there is none. But the wonders of modern science will enrich our lives by full motion internet video, enhanced with a panel of indicators for heartbeat, blood pressure, breathing rate, brainwave pattern and aura, in order to compensate for the loss of 'real life' vicinity. Perhaps in the course of events even the electronic equivalent of a divining rod... Jan
Guest guest
"jb" <kvy9 Re: Proposed Support Group Dear jb you wrote... "Which brings out the question "hoe to recognize an enlightened being"?." I assume that you are referring to ancient Shaolin methods of using common farming implements to determine how close particular beings are to here now. While dowsing various beings with the common garden hoe was clearly useful in determining who to revere and who to scorn and to what degree ... this practise has lost popularity since the coming of the stump jump plough. Yet another case of western technology uprooting traditional wisdom. I believe I saw that some western hoe masters were offering a workshop for anyone who has the money. So perhaps we may yet preserve this ancient wisdom and reinstate the practise........ ..........and then evrything will be alright !! _________ >Not only totally enlightened but driven by overwhelming >compassion to teach >those "with only a little dust in their eyes". The term "totally enlightened" suggests the possibility of "partly enlightened". Doesn't being subjected to urges suggest one should continue sadhana instead of start teaching? I'm not too sure on this one....i have been much too busy teaching to squeeze in any sadhana...however if any of my students find the answer I will get them to contact you asap. ____ >Jeez !!!!!!!!!! Doesn't this reveal a serious wanting_to_be_teacher problem? A friendly advice: Continue sadhana until freed from all urges Ans: i have done so much sadhana, probably in previous lives, that I am ABSOLUTELY FREE of the urge to be free from all urges.
