Too much consciousness of control is an attachment in itself, perhaps even an aversion, which is just as binding. It also depends a lot whether you are giving or receiving. Sai Baba says enjoy it until you are 60 then concentrate on spirituality. But you have to have your wife's permission to go to the forest, so to speak.
