Guest guest
Dear Fellow Satsanghers: I've noticed this morning that Tim has once again left the list stating that it was not fulfilling a purpose on his journey (not a direct quote). This brought up a question within my own mind. What is it that we look for on the 'net' version of global community? As I asked this question what came up for myself was that there is a need to just simply be with other seekers and observe and share the tapestry of the human play. I became aware also of the counter balance the communication on the list presents to the day to day news and concerns of the media's presentation of the global community. It is a reminder that the true purpose of human life is spiritual self-realization and that we are following an ancient rite as we move towards home. Anyone else choose to share their thoughts? Thank you, Linda

Marcia: To tell you the truth I don't know what I am doing on these mail lists. One thing I have noticed though is that it is possible to form relationships that feel like the ones that happen "in life" when people begin to bond. I wasn't sure if that was possible on an email list. You know how when you have a friend it begins to feel like one long dialogue. When you see each other or talk on the telephone threads get picked up and added to and fine tuned. It can be years in between talking about something and then one day one of you says something about ..."Hey remember when....blah, blah, blah." The thing is on a mail list we don't even have the physical cues. In a close relationship I have found that after a while I fail to take note of physical cues as much and relate directly to the essence of the other person. I have, for example, been startled when I realized I was having a serious discussion with someone who was going to the bathroom at the time. So I wonder if in some ways email lists cut down on the distracting factors such as someone having three heads or being so gorgeous that no one ever notices anything else. As this coincided with a change to living in a rural area, a telephone connection came in handy. Surfing the net, the K. list was met accidentally and this caused membership to mailing lists. Having lived as a monk without desires but with a job, it has been a nice surprise to see there are more travelers to the "bliss that quenches all desire". Guest guest
The list is great and I wish all of you the best but I don't have much use for these machines right now. If you need to contact me you know how. mike
