I used to think that was who I was. Then, others were attracted to my words. I then thought ''oh! I am not my body... I am my words, my mind!" But I've found that I am not my words either. So if I am not my words, my mind, my body, who am I? I thought of my ex-husband. He loved me no matter what I said or did. He loved me no matter if I looked good or bad. He just loved me. I thought of my mom. Same thing. Unconditional love. What a great gift for me to receive! This brought me to the thought that they loved me for not my thoughts, my words, my body, my actions, but for just being me in whatever form I chose in the moment. I found myself, who I am, through their love. This led me to understand that the only thing we can truly give of ourself... to help another know who they are... is love and acceptance. And with this giving, we receive our own knowing that we are more than a body or a mind. I have concluded that we are Love, nothing more, nothing less. Does this make sense? LOL! Guest guest
"Visitor: I begin with asking myself 'Who am I?' and eliminate the body as not-I, the breath as not-I, the mind as not-I, but then I am unable to proceed further. "Bhagavan: Well, that is all right so far as the mind goes. Your process is only mental .... The Truth cannot be directly indicated; that is why this mental process is used. You see, he who eliminates all the not-I cannot eliminate the 'I'. In order to be able to say 'I am not this' or 'I am That' there must be the 'I' to say it. This 'I' is only the ego or the 'I-thought'. After the rising up of this 'I-thought' all other thoughts arise. The 'I-thought' is therefore the root thought. If the root is pulled out the rest is at the same time uprooted. Therefore seek the root 'I'; question yourself: 'Who am I?' find out the source of the 'I'. Then all these problems will vanish and the pure Self alone will remain."* ____________________ * (The Teachings of Ramana Maharshi in his own words)

Gee, I dunno! Does it ring true? Resoundingly! Thank you, it's wonderful to hear about such discoveries in "beans & weiners" life and not just in the words of Famous Dead Guys[tm] or in Sanskrit, Parsi, Hebrew, or Arabic writings -- it really is all around us and within us, ever as close as our own beating hearts.
