And I think it does contain some truth. However, I don't know how you personally "apply" the knowledge you worked for in being granted a PhD (perhaps you don't even apply it at all...), so I'm glad you didn't take offense. Truly, none was intended (especially on a personal level!)... just an honest expression of my "personal viewpoint..." which should be taken as pure opinion and therefore useful to some and utterly useless to others.
