The answer would have to be zero, wouldn't it? Nothing times ANYTHING is still nothing. Guest guest
Oops wrong button, pressed send to fast, As if there where not enough e-mail's on this list << But what does give: zero multiplied by infinity ? >> > The answer would have to be zero, wouldn't it? Nothing times ANYTHING is still nothing. Yes it makes sense Tim, it's also my first call from common sense. But most mathematician i had a chance to talk to would say that 0 x infinity is not defined in math's. When they accept a definition (0 or infinity) when you divide them by each other. Why does it not apply to multiplication, maybe it's because of the property of commutativity multiplication as and that division does not have. 0 x infinity = (or not equal?) infinity x 0 = ? (according to math's) when 0 / infinity = 1 which is not equal to infinity / 0 = 0 Maybe that's why i never became a mathematician Antoine
