Partial response from Harsha We are bound in a way by our concepts, I believe. >Whether it is the concept of our being adolescence in evolution or whether >it is a concept of perfection, self-realization etc. Perhaps the point that >you are making is that if we look at the world around us (and look within >our own body and mind), we will see human misery, suffering, and anguish. >Perhaps Jody you are asking that given all this, how can anyone lay a claim >to self-realization, or knowledge of the truth, etc. > Thanks for responding to my thoughts! I think all individuals have the right to claim self realization and knowledge of truth at any time-- Self realization as I see it is absence of denial. Denial is a product of ego trying to protect its validity (or superiority) So that lack of denial and need to protect ego from judgement by self and others is to realize self. Self actualization, on the other hand, is to bring the self to its fully actualized potential. This, of course, is a moment to moment process-- ever unfolding-- and accelerated by those who work diligently at self transformation. Perfection, as expressed as a religious concept, is a heavenly illusion which works to drive individuals toward self actualization through transformation. Unfortunately, the idea of perfection also causes much lack of self acceptance. Fantasizing perfect beings and perfect states of being does serve to drive some on to greater levels of self actualization. Others simply worship what they see as unattainable... I think we already live in a state of perfection! We continually exist in a world of perfect evolution and its cognitive octave-- perfect self-directed transformation. I see a great potential for a great world where everyone enjoys the present state of their own evolution and works joyously at self transformation!!! That's my fantasy... Perhaps, being consciously aware of, and influential in our own and our planet's evolutionary process, self acceptance is as much an illusion as perfection---Unless--- we accept ourselves as the truly transformable beings we are!!
