Dan's offering, among other things, reveals

the pervasiveness and universality of nondual

metaphysics, which is discoverable not only in

the Western psychology of Freud [and obviously

Jung], but also in virtually all the major Western

as well as Eastern religions, *if* one has the key.

it should be emphasized however that this [our

corroborated] insight concerning desire is not for

everyone. it vitally depends on one's temperament

and vantage point on the path. this is true of any

and all philosophical insights/conceptions. failing

to recognize this is probably the leading contributor

of the bulk of controversy and misunderstanding in

the field of spiritual philosophy.

furthermore, we should bear in mind that--as many

sages admonish--we shouldn't mistake the finger

pointing for the moon itself. brahman can only be

deductively surmised or alluded to, never directly

described. this is why i don't believe that it's

disrespectful or wrong to refer to advaita [or any

other metaphysical approach or method] as a strategy.

a discardable means. thus there can be no truth,

per se, in the philosophy itself. it is ever only

a specific adaptation to the unique condition of

the individual's ego-Mind, in order to assist it in

its dissolution process. this is why we're told,

among other reasons, to not waste time defending

or speculating over a given view or conception.

simply because they never amount to anything more

than a means to an end--to be released with the

release of the ego itself, at the moment when...

this has nothing to do with the matter of one's

conduct in the world, which generally [it could

be said] is in accordance with what one feels in

the Heart...and which, by evolutionary default,

will eventually operate through the archetypal

recognition of Life as the unified expression

of the Self.
