Guest guest
Namaste Brothers and Sisters, Karmically everything is as it should be. People who are suffering getting massacred by corrupt governments etc are receiving their karma. However we have to have Compassion and do Seva, and act in accordance with Dharma, as long as we are in it and it is real for us.(punch the wall to see if it is real for you.) That is, fix things that are wrong, stop evil actions etc. It is not so much what is happening to the suffering but what is happening to us, and whether we are detached from it or not. Saying it is not real is just a cop-out unless you are 'realised'. >From an Absolute standpoint nothing is happening at all, it is all an appearance on the Brahman, Saguna Brahman. For Nirguna Brahman it doesn't exist at all, it never happened. So there you are we don't exist! Things are just happening in an illusory dream, at this level, there is no individual. Where does the dream go when we awake?? To choose to be a Bhakti instead of a Jnani for instance is in itself an illusion, who chooses? ( It is the same thing anyway.) When you are asleep who turns your body in the bed? Who snores? Who causes all the other happenings during sleep in the sack? You are not there so it must be just happening. Even when awake who causes the scratching and fidgeting? For the more you try to be a Bhakti or a Jnani, the more you reinforce, "the tryer', instead of surrendering. For if one 'becomes realised', today what one 'planned', tomorrow will still happen, but who will be there? If there is no longer any individual ego? This is why great teachers talk about detaching ourselves from our actions. Nishkarma karma. " How can one attached to the self turn towards the Higher Self? Detachment alone can lead one to awareness of the Immortal Self. That is the price one has to offer to receive the reward. Give up and gain, that is the Divine Law." Sai Baba. Because life is a whole, what happens to one creature has an effect on all creatures. In this respect, Ahimsa could be called sensible self-interest; sooner or later one will meet one or more "mental layers" that could be called "collective storehouse of suffering" and "crossing" them is no fun. Karma is a complex matter. In the East, it is often considered as fate and nothing is done. In the West, the mentality is that of "doing", ignoring that once an avalanche is rolling, nothing can be done to prevent the damage. Ahimsa is the science to prevent formation of avalanches. In mathematics, equations can have more than one root; violent death doesn't have to happen, even those caused by natural catastrophes could be prevented (a matter of priority in spending $).
