Even though it 'is' diamond material. It is not now a diamond - and needs transformative work. Although all the raw diamond material is abundantly present in the coal's natural state. The catalyst - would be vajrayana. If the coal could become spontaneously aware of its own true nature as a diamond - that would be dzogchen. diana

Well if you're talking carbon transformation, there is quartz, graphite, buckminster fullerenes etc. Point is, only the right amount of directed pressure will transform a base carbon product into a diamond crystal, like the pressure of Vajrayana practise done correctly will yield its product. > >janpa: Vajrayana is for those folks who like to test the water of the > pool by > >jumping into the deep end first. > > Dan: > What is the Way for those who simply slip in wherever they happen to > be? then you could hit your head diving into the shallow end . maybe its actually for those who need to be drug kicking and screaming into the pool to be thrown into the deep end to learn to swim . --janpa

Yet transformations will take place, but the sense of it is different, more like transformations are happening and concerning "shell", not "essence".
