What I >said > >is only one way to say it. > >Love, Mirror > > hi! i do agree with harsha and mirror. happiness, meaning pleasure can mean outward things. and soon as attained, there is that peace of not seeking! but then it's not enough. . .we want more! what is it we truly seek? this is the happiness of which is spoken here is i think, &as has been said it is "that which is." this happiness is bliss. happiness is a natural way to be. it's what you are, it's all there is! if it were not known intimately to us, why would we be *so* driven to attain it? over and over, the walls are built and torn down. . . (this is it! no that's not it!) it's the seeking that causes us agitiation and misery. then happiness is clouded by misery. thoughts arise, and we tell long stories about why we are not in a state of bliss. the stories and the words build walls between us and our bliss, but it's still there! this happiness/ bliss-- how can it be obtained? it cannot, for it always is. yes, mira-- no other way to say! it is a wonderful question, ashok. in asking you are self-teaching yourself. some words about learning/teaching "CANT" SPIRIT GIVEN in 3-D, poured from golden chalice on as yet unsaturated minds. Spirit 1-A for tiny vassals, spirit sponges. TRIED spirit on for size--i was much too small, unworthy, bathed in shame-original, and conscious of the body spirit lent. SPIRIT FELT like nothing-- on wheels and walking on water! in neon, with dolby .. . .blessed be the fruit of thy womb, jesus-- spirit felt, unfelt. STOPPED trying sensation of spirit-- resigned to admire, respect and obey like a bought bride in an alien land. . . SPIRIT WAS AND IS i started at sheer recognition, leaning from my sacred learning, cast of yearning for the secret rush-- STRIPPED OFF mystical get-up, exchanged forever flowing vestment, & forever limiting words for the key-- which was me. .. who? laughing, self to self, having found the question.. . .. love and blessings, aleks
Guest guest
Hello Ashok, One can only speak from one's truth and experience. For myself, I have found that the quest for 'happy' led me down roads of external escapes and that whenever I found 'happiness' it was not long before it's twin 'unhappiness' appeared. For myself, now I simply try to be at peace with anything that is in my life and if I seek anything at all it is the truth of being. Welcome to the satsangh. Maybe Aleks or Mira or >Zenbob or others can help out here. Mira: Since you've thrown in my name here Harsha, I'll give it a shot. Looking for happiness is a very common urge amongst human beings. Many seek it, many want it, many crave for that moment of satisfaction, contentment, feeling 'happy'. The seeking for happiness is an outward movement. It is placing attention on 'something'. This 'something' is usually a desired object that in some way looks attractive. We project something in this object that we expect happiness from, therefore we seek a way to obtain this object. When we indeed succeed in obtaining the object, the seeking stops (briefly), and what follows is what we have come to call 'happiness'. In my view however, this 'happiness' is not experienced because the desired object has been obtained, but because the seeking for it has stopped. When there is no attention on a desired object, there is no seeking, there is only that 'which is'. That 'which is' is happiness in itself. It need not be sought, for it is that which remains when seeking stops. How strange, that we keep seeking it until we realize that we are that which seeks it. Of course, there are many ways to say something about happiness. What I said is only one way to say it. Love, Mirror
