Guest guest
Hi, Most people who know me know the main practise i have is Tara. Green Tara, and a version of a Tara sadhana my teacher gave me, which isnt exactly just Green Tara, but she plays a main role . Ok how does this relate to Kalachakra? Well to the mandala of Kalachakra not much, but to a tibetan lady selling Thankgas it does. There was this beautiful green thing shining in the sun as im walking by the booths. i look closer and its a wonderful applique thangka of Green Tara . This means its not painted, but made of patchwork silk. It actually looked like Green Tara too, as i see her in my visualizations. it was $250, a little higher than i could afford on my own, so i asked my vajra brother if he wanted to go halvsies on it and we bought it for our dharma center. My teacher liked it too. Since we were at Kalachakra, we had it blessed by a lady who is an incarnation of Tara and her husband. I found that out by carrying around the rolled up thangka and having a stranger ask me if they could see it. Turned out they were this lady's students. Anyway the lady we bought it from gets them from Tibet. She hand carrys them out, sells them, and carries the money back in to the makers. 250$ is cheap for a thankga of quality, but to the maker, it is a lot of money. more later --janpa
