Guest guest
OK I'm an avid reader. And I've been reading alot - both on and off line. I believe that I learn best through another person. London, Ontario is where I live. How do I find a teacher? Does the teacher find me? Begin where you are, is the message I'm getting. OK. Thanks for your kindness, Love Lynne

I appreciate your input, and your welcome. methinks "could do worse" may be an understatement. Lynne

D: That's for you to decide. >L: Perhaps your advice to me would also be to know myself first? D: "Know thyself" is certainly sound advice, from time immemorial. On the other hand, questions often generate useful dialogue, at least according to Socrates.

I don't know much about teachers or paths, having always been rather a solitary eclectic rambler. In this life there have been teachers, though they mostly would not identify themselves as such, and I only recognise them as teachers in hindsight. Some sort of formal meditative practise might be worth trying, if you haven't done so already, and joining a group that sits together with someone or ones with experience in meditation could help. I distrust leaders who seem too self assured, but that's just a personal thing, i get this irresistable desire to try to knock them off their pedestals :-) If your interest is in learning to express or articulate what you feel but don't seem able to bring to the surface, then in my opinion you could do worse than just sticking around here and participating in whatever threads catch your interest. Don't worry about butting in on conversations, people do it all the time. I've been participating here and on the NDS list since last March, and I have made great progress in self expression, and become part of an extraordinary wonderful community of people. What I particularly like about it is its apparent leaderlessness, my image is of a group of friends who happen to find themselves in the same place, and are able to reach out to one another, maybe just talking around an electronic campfire. There are people here who have been in formal disciple-guru relationships and many other paths or no path at all. Don't be shy about asking questions, or making speculative statements, you never know what might emerge in response. Please excuse my rambling, I must be in a loquacious mood. Welcome. andrew
