Guest guest
Dear All, You are so beautiful, and i am wordless this morning, wanting to offer a feast of love and finding my tongue doesn't move. I really feel and see this as I sit here this morning, how we come to play and enjoy each other here and sometimes i am afraid like a child, that i won't get to have the pretty block to build with ... This morning i see Diana's courage, Dan's compassion, Dharma's generous sharing of words and ideas, Glo's lovely wit, Antoine's beautiful words, Ashoka's gentle touch, Jan's clear insight, Harsha's wonderful love, Andrew's clear thoughts, Jerry's generous space for healing, Greg's quiet love, each of you so much love .. I found something on the internet to share with you from a guy called Matreya: The Fire of Now Real growth cannot happen by reading any book or listening to any teacher, it comes only in the fire of now. The purpose of all religious talk and books is to provoke the thirst for the fire of now. You are addicted to dreams of the future and memories of the past. You are programmed by Source to desire and achieve. The fire of now burns your toys. The fire of now is dangerous for children who are attached to their toys. Your toys are: your friends and relationships, your desire for pleasure and possessions, your lust for life, your need for attention, whatever pulls you outward away from your centre. The fire of now burns in your centre with the eternal energy of Source. It is awareness. Awareness is the beginning and the end. And it is the means to purify your being of attachment to toys. The fire of now burns your attachment to you. All attachments disappear when the root is cut." End quote Thank you for being you, I am so grateful to know so many beautiful people, watching you all play in the Garden of Eden here in Tiamat. Have an apple *g* Love, Annette
Guest guest
There are many overlapping members on both lists who understand what is going on, but others who are only on a are going to be at a loss on the nature of this recent discussion between Diana, Dan, Xan, and Andrew. I would like to make a couple of points. 1. Everyone who wishes to be here is welcome to be here and it is our responsibility as a group to nurture them and heal them and make them a part of the community. 2. The underlying theme in this Sangha is nonviolence and this should color our interactions with each other. This implies our listening to other, perhaps differing points of view, with courtesy and respect. Unless we give others this space, we cannot realistically expect it for ourselves. 3. Words have great power and potency. Let us not use them recklessly at any time. As humans we are bound to make mistakes in conversations. It is best to apologize quickly in such cases and keep things clean. 4. Spontaneity, humor, and civil behavior are not mutually exclusive (I am doing well on two out of three! :--). I see all three Harsha :-) Have been thinking deeply on these various discussions, and it was why I posted what I did this morning ... as you clearly saw through that to my intention. If I am playing with other children in the sandbox, I can hear someone if they ask me quietly and gently to share my toy. I cannot hear someone who screams, or who is strident and demanding, or pointing fingers at me and telling me how to be me... you see? I can hear my son when he asks, "please Mom, may I have dessert for dinner?" Yes, on Fridays, he gets dessert for dinner instead of the whole meal, it is a special treat. If he screams at me, he goes directly to his room, if I yell at him, he says to me the same thing, "Mom, we are only to speak softly and gently." In this manner, we allow each other the time and space to take a deep breath, back off and re-initiate the conversation. If someone is in too much heat, too emoting, too attached, then we meditate together to bring the peace back. Love, Annette
