Guest guest
Namaste All, It is strange how things happen isn't it? I kind of drifted into the recent posts, for whatever reason. However if I hadn't, it would not have been in my mind to answer an important question on another list, about Amma Vasantha Sai, a Realised Soul in India. With regard to Chakras etc, another book is, " The Theories of the Chakras", "Bridge to Higher Consciousness" Hiroshi Motoyama, Quest publishing, Theosophical Publishing House. Wheaton, Illinois.1981--1988. It includes a chapter by Swami Satyananda Saraswati, Bihar school of yoga, and the Shat-Chakra-Nirupana, and Gorakshashatakam. Its modern scientific experiments and comparisons with Chinese systems is interesting. It also refers back to Leadbeater and Arthur Avalon. It seems to be a good beginners guide and all in one reference, I had forgot I had it until today! Lots of synchronicity here! Love and Sai Ram, Tony. For those in Vancouver, it is in the Banyen Bookshop, which is online also. ===== http://members.xoom.com/aoclery/ (glossary incl?) Keep on truckin-Chant the Gayatri! Breathe So----Ham! "God is formless. In order to merge in the formless God, you have to give up identification with the body." "There is only one 'Soul' and 'That' is God." Sai Baba. Guest guest
I have heard Hiroshi Motoyama speak at a World Yoga Convention that was held in Sydney several years ago. It was organised by the Bihar School of Yoga under the patronage of the current head - Swami Niranjanananda. Motoyama's work on the physiological effects of meditation is fascinating. Like waves rising are not different than the ocean, all things arising from Awareness are of the nature of Awareness. Awareness does not come and go but is always Present. It is Home. Home is where the Heart Is. Jnanis know the Heart to be the Finality of Eternal Being. A true devotee relishes in the Truth of Self-Knowledge, spontaneously arising from within into It Self.
