Hello,

The Shri Yantra is like a candy I have been keeping in my explorations

of "bindus" to give a name. And any information, or information leading

to more information on the Sri Yantra will be appreciated.

Hello Antoine,

The Shri Yantra is considered to be the most important of all yantras. It is

the macrocosm as well as the microcosm and is the representation of the Siva

and Sakti as one. It is considered as the body of the Goddess

Tripuransundari (Sundari, Lalita, Shodashi, Bala - all the same just

different names). Worship of the Shri Yantra is known as Shri Vidya and it

is said that the teacher of Adi Shankaracharya was a worshiper of Shri

Vidya. There is a 15 syllable mantra known as Panchadashi that goes with

this yantra. As they are all bija (seed sounds) it is strongly advised that

one is instructed in proper pronunciation.

On a basic construction level there are four upward pointing triangles and

five downward pointing triangles. The four upward are considered as Siva

and the five downward are Sakti. Considered as the yantra of the cosmos, the

form of the human organism and the goddess Tripuransundari (the goddess is

energy which pervades the entire phenomenal world). We then have the five

downward pointing triangles as the tanmatras (sound, touch, sight, taste and

smell), five mahabhutas (akasha, air, fire, water and earth, five sense

organs (ear, skin, eyes, tongue and nose) and five organs of action (hands,

feet, mouth, genitals and anus). The four upward triangles are chitta

(being), buddhi (intellect), ahamkar ("I" or ego) and manas (mind). All of

these triangles intersect representing the intersection and joining of all

of the forces of creation. The bindu point in the center represents the

Divine Mother or Goddess and can be said to relate to the center of the 7th

chakra which represents the soul. On another level the Shri Chakra

represents sound through its correlation to the Sanskrit alphabet and is a

complete study on it's own.

You saving this chakra like candy is certainly understandable as working

with the Shri Chakra can be pure bliss. I think that there are those who

would consider this particular yantra as the whole meal :). For further

reference you might want to look into TOOLS FOR TANTRA by Harish Johari, SRI

CHAKRA by S. Shankaranarayanan and TANTRIC YOGA AND THE TEN WISDOM GODDESSES

by David Frawley.

As we dance through the journey...I offer you a mantra that is music when

said.....

PashYema Sharadah Shatam (May we all see a hundred autumns),

Thank you Linda,

May the bliss that will come to be found in the Shri Chakra, be my gift

to you for this information you have given me to explore on the Shri

Yantra.

Of course it's very own structure as appeared to me in dreams, and a

very dear person came to sea it in me, before i new anything about it in

litterature. In this sense i feel guided in its exploration in details.

In some way it's structure talks more to my being than the genral words

we use to communicate. So many wonderfull "things" to re-discorver, over

and over. I love it so much. I think i am simply in love :)

Dear Antoine:

As I read the above I couldn't help but think of how often you give a

blissful feeling to your thoughts. Then I read your closing words and

realized.......you are simply in love and therefore are love....this comes

through so strongly through you.

Thank you,

Linda

All paths go somewhere. No path goes nowhere. Paths, places, sights,
