Yes. Murthyji of the Advaitin list has written several eloquent posts on the matter of Atma Vidya. I encourage all who have an interest in Advaita to join the Advaitin list run most competently and wisely by Ramji, Murthyji, and Madhavaji who set the best examples for us through the beauty of their posts and purity of their hearts. The scholarship of this list on Advaita is at a very high level and very beneficial for us who are not well versed in Sanskrit. Many difficult points can be clarified on this list by the brilliant scholars present who also have much practical wisdom. We use the term Atma Vidaya (Self-Knowledge), but Atma It Self Is Vidya. This Vidya, this Knowledge, Jnana, the Light of Self, call it what you want, exists whether perceptions (through koshas) are present or not. So we call it Ever Present. The Self is Sat-Chit-Ananda as One Whole, as Perfect Self-Recognition. Approaches to this Recognition will vary depending on individual inclinations, karmas, etc. One ounce of practice is worth a ton of arguments. Practices vary but usually consist of some variation of allowing the mind to continually scan itself, using the help of mantra, light, etc. In Self-Enquiry the mind scans itself without a seed. This leads to Self-Knowledge. Harsha
