In fact, I'm exercising all ten fingers quite rapidly as we speak. Another transplantation alternative would be robot heads onto human bodies; this would be ideal from the perspective of being able to delay gratification indefinitely, and freeing spirituality from creative thinking. :-) >J: If attachment is a matter of emotion and attitude, you are providing an >excellent example for that statement: "Eat what >>agrees with you" is something I can only interpret as attachment, not as >an invitation to sensibly and rationally determine one's intake of food... D: Jan - peace be with you, brother. "Eat what agrees with you" is indeed an invitation to sensibly and rationally determine one's intake of food - if that's what agrees with you. You've interpreted my words so as to reveal to me my "attachment" - hopefully you can be as insightful an authority for your own attachments as you are for mine. namaste -- Dan

One could ask the question: is it possible for someone to do you a favor? In my case, the answer is "no". If someone would present a gift of a million $, I would say "thank you" but nothing would really change, apart from a few adaptations in "things". If the offer would be a million $ for an underground experiment with biological rhythms for a period of say 10 years, the answer would be a definite "no". Adaption of mind and body to driving a scooter on Europe's most dangerous roads is far easier and faster than raising the money for a new car. The scooter does 60 mph and will be tuned or "upgraded" to at least 85 and I don't and won't protective cloths, just beachwear unless the law will be changed. Another question to ask oneself is: who would miss you if you would vanish from the planet? In my case, the answer is "nobody". A few years after having vanished, my name would automatically vanish from the records of several financial institutions and that's all. So what can be left as attachment? The sun, the moon and the stars? The body? One's real nature ? Jan

D: My view of this: If one's name vanished, and one's belief that one's opinions were significant disappeared, if one didn't place bad against good, and the emotion driving the desire to be right subsided - then I suppose one wouldn't then have any attachment to demonstrating that one didn't have attachments - nor would one be concerned about whether or not others had attachments, nor would one have an idea of oneself as either attached or nonattached. This is simply one possible perspective of this topic, presented as it looks from here. >The sun, the moon and the stars? The body? One's >real nature ? This sounds nice to me - the sun, the moon, the stars, the body, one's real nature - no need to worry about whether or not there is attachment on a night like this :-) Peace, Dan
