Linda - I offer my thanks for your words that reconcile maleness and

femaleness on the list. We are, perhaps, invited to reconcile maleness and

femaleness between each other, and within ourselves. Some questions arise

as I look at the concerns raised in this thread: Is theory necessarily

opposed to poetry? Does the right brain really operate separately from the

left brain? Is it possible to have poetic theory, and poetry that includes

abstract reality? Is it possible to have creative thought and thoughtful

creativity? Can I define That which has no inside nor outside as male or

female? Am I That, or am I defined by maleness or femaleness? How do we

reconcile the "relative" truth, that includes our

physical/biological/psychosocial gender differences - the space where we

walk, talk, eat and sleep - and the "absolute" truth of no-distinction,

where time and space aren't confines?

To me, the answers to these questions point toward an unsplit reality, and

a reality that is extremely challenging. The challenge is to be with no

inside and outside while I recognize and react in a temperospatial world

that depends on defining differences. Further, the challenge is to

recognize that these apparently two worlds are, in reality, the same world.

Now, my commentary may seem very theoretical. Okay, okay. So forget

everything I said. It doesn't really make sense anyway. Instead, here's

a poem:

No inside nor outside have I

Maybe that's why while I sit I can fly

I've given this world its texture and form

How can you expect me to fit a norm?

Although it seems that I write from afar

Outside of me none of you are

So my love I send to you

With wishes for all to live well and true

Love,

Dan

Hi Dan:

As I read your words which put ideas into concise and logical form there is

not one idea with which I would disagree. We are here to reconcile all

polarities into the oneness of the soul. I believe that just as the family

we are born into represents our first level of karma and love on this plane

the gender we are born into represents a first 'bend' to the mind which will

create much of the reality of this life. This female mind recognizes the

truth of the words you have written and the rationale behind them. The

'theory' has form and substance which would hold up through any debate,

discussion or teaching on gender.....valuable qualities as we communicate

ideas and thoughts to one another.

When I read your poem it causes me to smile as it goes into my heart to

remind me that this is all just a glorious play. No matter what our

differences within us all is the same golden light. I breathe a deep sigh

to know that truth can be said in short verse with a sincere expression of

love.

So thank you Dan for communicating to us all that in the end what is the

same is greater than what is different.

Much love and peace on this Thanksgiving Day.
